Each DO should check with the AOA for the actual number of credits allowed.

Physician Assistants

The American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) accepts up to 2 Category 1 CME credits for each Audio-Digest activity completed successfully. AAPA accepts AMA Category 1 CME credit from organizations accredited by the ACCME.

From Volume 41, Issue 1 (January 2001) to Volume 44, Issue 10 (May 2006) each issue was presented for 1.5 CE credits.

As of 9/21/05, each issue of Audio-Digest Ophthalmology may be used for continuing education for optometrists for a maximum of three years from its publication date.

COMTs, COAs, and COTs

The Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO) allows certificants to earn JCAHPO Group B credits towards recertification with Audio-Digest Ophthalmology activities. With each completed program, including passing the posttest, certificants may calculate credits earned for completion of Category 1 CME activities in Ophthalmology approved by the AMA as 2 hours of participation equals 1 B Credit for COAs and COTs, and 1 hour of participation equals 1 B Credit for COMTs.

Many individual titles are offered as part of more than one course. You may only earn AMA Category 1 Credit one time for each title. If you are an ASI repeat student, or are an individual subscriber to Audio Digest, there is a chance you may register for material for which you have already earned credit. If either of these conditions apply to you, please advise our offices prior to registration.
