ZIKA Virus Major Challenges: Resistance and Suspected Link to Guillain-Barre Syndrome

Zika virus is a mild disease if contracted but has serious concerns.  It is spreading globally very rapidly. There is a possible link to birth defects and the neurological disorder Guillian-Barre Syndrome.  It may be sexually transmitted as well as by vector.  There is no specific treatment or vaccine currently available.  It thrives in populated environments, breeds in minute amounts of standing water and has become resistent to insecticides. Click here to read more
